A happy return for Lowry

STEPHEN Lowry admits he is “delighted” to be back on the pitch after making his first appearance of the season yesterday afternoon…

The midfielder had been sidelined with a knee injury and then a broken wrist but returned in the Bannsiders’ 4-0 win against Portadown at The Showgrounds.

Lowry remarked that it has been a difficult year with niggling injuries but it’s great to be back out on the pitch, before insisting the start to the contest was ideal as Coleraine led by a couple of goals after just ten minutes.

The ex-Linfield man revealed he is bad at watching games and not being a part of it, as well as acknowledging the squad aren’t overly happy with their start to the campaign.

With Coleraine in action on Tuesday night in the BetMcLean Cup, Lowry confessed that he and his team-mates are looking to create further memories in the competition.
