‘Another big game’ – OK

COLERAINE boss Oran Kearney is relishing another ‘big game’ as the Stripes play host to Crusaders tomorrow afternoon (KO 3pm)…

Danske Bank Premiership

Overview:

Coleraine made it five wins in succession as first-half strikes from Stephen Lowry and James McLaughlin were enough to seal a 2-1 win against Larne at Inver Park. Those three points have propelled Oran Kearney’s men up to fourth in the Danske Bank Premiership.

The visitors are currently in third position in the table after back-to-back draws against Larne and Portadown. The North Belfast side led 2-1 at Shamrock Park on Tuesday night but had to settle for a share of the spoils after a last gasp equaliser from Lee Bonis. The Hatchetmen have been busy in the transfer market in recent days as Daniel Larmour joined the club from Glenavon.

Previous meetings:

In November, Oran Kearney’s men would slip to defeat at Seaview as Jordan Owens’ second-half header would prove to be the difference. The Bannsiders would nearly fall behind on eight minutes as Gareth Deane made a superb stop from Philip Lowry’s header, with Stephen O’Donnell and Stephen Lowry going close at the other end. Coleraine welcomed Eoin Bradley from suspension and he tested Sean O’Neill with a 30-yard free-kick but Crusaders would find the winner on 71 minutes as Owens latched onto Jordan Forsythe’s free-kick to nod home.

Manager’s Thoughts:

“It just seems like we go from one big game to another big game and Crusaders are no different,” Kearney said.

“There are a lot of tired bodies in there, it’s tough when you play after a break, then you go into a three game week.

“It’s important that we rest, recharge and see where we are at for tomorrow.”
