RUAIDHRI Higgins says a strong turnout of away supporters can bring a “massive help” to his squad ahead of today’s Premiership encounter at Solitude…

The Bannsiders are on their travels for the first time this season as they face off against the BetMcLean Cup holders.

Coleraine started their season with a 1-0 victory at home to Larne as Joel Cooper bagged the winner with four minutes remaining.

However, Cliftonville possess the next challenge for Higgins’ men and the Coleraine supremo wants to see as many fans as possible make the trip to the capital.

He stated: “I would love to see it…I hope they turn out in their numbers.

“If they can go to Fleetwood, then they can go to Solitude. I hope they come in their numbers. They’ve been brilliant, to be fair.

“They’ve got right behind the team. When you’re attacking the away end in Solitude, they can be a massive help.

“Fingers crossed they come in their numbers and we can give them something to shout about.”

Cliftonville lost their Premiership opener away at Bangor last weekend as the Seasiders picked up a 3-1 success on their return to the top-flight.

With that in mind, Higgins is expecting a response from the hosts but stated how his side are going to the north Belfast venue to pick up all three points.

“When you go to Solitude…you know it’s going to be tough,” Higgins said.

“The fact that they lost at the weekend, you would expect a real positive reaction from them, so we need to be ready for that.

“We’ve got really good players. I know they do and they’ll cause us issues, but there’s no doubt that we’ll cause them issues as well.

“We just have to keep believing in what we’re trying to do.

“We are going to Solitude to try and win the game – there’s no other way of approaching it.”
