COLERAINE FC is extremely delighted to announce the signing of Adam Brooks for an undisclosed fee…
The striker joins the Bannsiders on a long-term deal after an agreement was struck with fellow Premiership side Crusaders.
The Scotsman started his career at Celtic and spent almost a decade at Parkhead, featuring in the Lowland League and scoring in the UEFA Youth League for the Hoops against Real Madrid and Shakthar Donetsk.
Brooks, who has played for Scotland at under-16, under-17 and under-19 level, then moved into senior football for the first time after completing spells at Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Queen of the South.
However, he crossed the Irish Sea last summer to join Crusaders, where his strong work ethic and eye for goal have quickly become hallmarks of his game. That goalscoring instinct was evident two weeks ago when he hit a hat-trick against Portadown.
Bannsiders boss Ruaidhri Higgins, who has been a long-term admirer of Brooks, is pleased to welcome the 22-year-old to The Showgrounds.
He said: “Adam is a natural centre-forward and he’s a different player to Matthew (Shevlin).
“When you look at our squad, Matthew was probably our only option as a natural number nine.
“We felt that we needed to add to that department and thankfully we’ve got a really good one in Adam.
“We’ve invested in this signing but we feel it is a worthy investment because he’s only 22-years-old, he’s signing a long-term contract and I think he can go to another level.
“We would like to think we can make this his home now.”
