COLERAINE Women Reserves travelled to face Ards Rangers FC Women II last night in a much-anticipated top-of-the-table encounter, and the match lived up to expectations in every way…

The visitors started brightly, creating several early chances as they pressed high and linked up well across the pitch. Despite the early promise, it was Ards Rangers who found the breakthrough, capitalising on a chance to take the lead. Undeterred, Coleraine continued to apply pressure, but Ards doubled their advantage before the break, leaving the away side with work to do in the second-half.

The second-half saw a transformed Coleraine side emerge, full of determination and fighting spirit. Their persistence paid off when Chelsea Moore delivered an unbelievable corner that found its way directly into the net, breathing new life into the game and lifting the team.

Buoyed by the goal, Coleraine continued to press, and it wasn’t long before Eve Anderson produced a moment of magic – charging forward with a dazzling run before launching a stunning strike into the top corner, levelling the match with style.

As the clock wound down, Coleraine’s fitness and resilience came to the fore. Every black shirt battled fiercely, with the defence holding strong and the attack pushing relentlessly for a winner. While a decisive third goal eluded both sides, Coleraine’s comeback was a testament to their character and teamwork.

A big thank you to Ards Rangers for hosting such a competitive fixture, and best of luck for the remainder of the season.
