Bannsiders beaten in SuperCup opener

COLERAINE Under 13s began their SupercupNI campaign against the American side GPS at Anderson Park…

Coleraine started well but GPS took the lead from the penalty spot when Jude was adjudged to have fouled the striker. A frantic couple of minutes saw GPS extend their lead only for the Bannsiders to pull one back when Danny was put through and finished coolly past the American keeper.

Coleraine looked the more likely to score next with Tommy coming close, but just before half-time. the Coleraine defence failed to clear an attack allowing GPS to score.

In the second half, Harvey was called on to make a number of excellent saves to keep Coleraine in the game but unfortunately, chances were few and far between despite a fantastic work rate from the two strikers, Tommy and Travis.

Credit to all the young Bannsiders who put in a great shift against a very strong American side.
