KODI Lyons-Foster says that whilst Coleraine will focus on dealing with Cliftonville’s threats – they will also look to utilise the attacking options of their own…

The Bannsiders are the visitors to Solitude tomorrow afternoon in the first away game of the 2025-26 campaign.

Cliftonville come into the fixture after losing to Bangor on the opening day – but Lyons-Foster remarked how the Bannsiders will have to keep an eye on the Reds’ danger men.

He also recapped on the Stripes’ success against Larne as Ruaidhri Higgins’ men got the campaign up and running with a 1-0 win at The Showgrounds.

“Solitude is a really tough place to go,” he said.

“Obviously, they’ve got a lot of attacking threats, with Joe Gormley, Ryan Curran, and Rory Hale is a really good player at this level.

“So, we’re well aware of what they’ve got to offer. But I think, look, at the end of the day, if we bring what we can and what we showed last week against Larne, then I think we’ll be alright.

“We dug really deep against Larne and, obviously, Joel came up with the magic.

“Obviously, he’s built a reputation for himself of doing that at this level, but I thought as a team performance, it was really good. I thought we were well worth the result in the end, to be honest with you.

“We were delighted to get a clean sheet, but it’s a team effort at the end of the day. I think the boys from the front pressed really well and made it difficult for them to put any service into the frontmen.”

The 28-year-old was the first signing of the Higgins era after joining in the summer after a spell at Glentoran.

The London-born defender admits he has enjoyed every minute since arriving on the Ballycastle Road.

He explained: “It’s a really competitive group.

“There’s plenty of options in all positions, not just attacking across the whole back four, even in midfield…so it bodes well moving forward.

“I’m enjoying it. Everyone’s been really welcoming, so I’m thankful for that.”
