DEAN Shiels says Coleraine are eager to put some “demons” to bed as they face Crusaders tomorrow afternoon…

The Bannsiders have yet to pick up a positive result against the Hatchetmen so far this season as Declan Caddell’s men have came out on top in all four matches to date.

Only a point separates Coleraine in fourth and Dungannon Swifts and Crusaders immediately below them, and as such, Shiels knows the importance of the task at hand.

He said: “We expect a hard game, it seems like we’ve played Crusaders so many times this year but seems like we haven’t played them in a while, so it’ll be good to go there.

“We have a few demons to put right in regards to the amount of times we’ve played them and been disappointed being on the wrong end of results against them.

“We’ve had really good performances against them, I think in every game we’ve played them we’ve played them really well but the motivation is to go and beat them and gather momentum going into the play-offs.

“The target all season has been to try and finish as high as we can.

“Fourth now is the realistic target, there’s not much between ourselves Dungannon and Crusaders, I think there’s only a point within it.

‘’If we can get three points on Saturday, that will go a long way to getting fourth.’’

Shiels showed his appreciation for the away support and provided a squad update on several members.

“The away support has been brilliant recently and as always, we can use their energy to help push the players and the players can then feed off that, so hopefully they come in their numbers, and we can give them something to shout about,” he continued.

“We’re working a lot on Jamie McGonigle to see if he can offer us something in the last part of the season.

“Connor Murray is still struggling; Levi Ives is still struggling and obviously the long-term ones with Alfie Gaston and Graham Kelly.”
