LEVI Ives says the dressing room have quickly put last weekend’s disappointment behind them as they face Carrick Rangers tomorrow afternoon…

The Bannsiders lost out for the first time this season as they were edged out 2-1 by Glentoran last Friday night.

Despite suffering their first setback of the campaign, Ives insisted that the changing room has put that firmly behind them as they bid to get back to winning ways.

He said: “It’s just about getting back in on Monday and trying to put it behind you as quickly as possible.

“Because it is the league and there’s always a game to bounce back on.

“We have a game this weekend against Carrick, it’ll be tough, but I think it’ll be a good one to bounce back from.

“I’ve obviously played in the league over a number of years and I’ve come up against Stephen Baxter loads of times.

“He always has his teams well set up and hard to play against, so I’m expecting the same.

“Carrick’s obviously picked up great results already this season, so early on, so no, we’re expecting a very tough game.”

Ives has been mostly known throughout his career for playing as a left-back or left-wing back.

However, he has been plying his trade as a centre-half in recent weeks and he admitted he is enjoying it.

“I don’t mind it whatsoever…as long as I’m playing and I’m helping out wherever it needs to be, I’m happy enough to do so,” he added.

“I enjoy playing it as well. It may not be the tallest centre-half you’ll see, but I honestly don’t mind playing in there to be fair.

“I would say I read the game quite well, so I think that would be one of my strengths, defending more than attacking, so I do enjoy playing at the back just as much as I do like getting forward.”
