Bannsiders set for Charity Shield final

COLERAINE aim to secure their first ever NIFL Charity Shield as they take on Linfield at The Oval (KO 3pm)…

It will mark the first time the Bannsiders have appeared in a Charity Shield final with all proceeds going towards the Action Mental Health charity. The fixture is the perfect preparation for the start of the Danske Bank Premiership campaign on August 12.

Coleraine manager Oran Kearney will be without the services of Lyndon Kane, Gareth McConaghie, David Kee, James McLaughlin and Joe McCready through injury. Latest signing Scot Whiteside is unable to play as he hasn’t received international clearance.

“It’s nice to get back into the real action again,” Kearney told colerainefc.com

“I’m like most fans I just want the season to be up and running and thankfully it will get going for us a week early.

“We’re really looking forward to the game, there is also a trophy at stake and it’s one we will be trying our hardest to win.”

Admission prices have been set for £8 adult, £5 12-16 year-olds and under 12’s free.

Supporters will be housed in the home stand at the Oval and the club urge fans to read travel information released by PSNI HERE before travelling.

As ever, those unable to attend can follow the latest developments via the club’s official Twitter account (@ColeraineFC).
