CONNOR Murray says yesterday’s win at Windsor Park shows there’s enough quality within the Coleraine squad to kick-on for the rest of the season…

The midfielder hit a deadly double as the Bannsiders picked up a 2-0 victory against the league leaders.

The Scotsman’s first arrived a clever one-two with Kyle Spence midway through the first-half, with the second seemingly deceiving Blues stopper David Walsh before rippling the back of the net on 67 minutes.

When asked to sum up the afternoon, the 27-year-old said: “I really enjoyed it.

“I thought we defended excellently and I thought big Charles (Dunne) was excellent today.

“I’m not too sure what happened with my second goal but the first one was a good team goal.

“Kyle (Spence) teed the first on a plate for me and I just did the rest.

“I’m not sure what happened for the second as I didn’t see the ball when it hit the net.

“I’ve caught the ball okay but it must have had a bit of movement on it and it ended up in the net – but I’ll take it!”

Coleraine have five matches remaining before the league split and Murray says the bar has been set as they welcome Portadown to The Showgrounds next weekend.

He added: “It’s a massive result but we’ve got a really good squad in there.

“There’s a lot of good players but in the dressing room we know we can dig out results like that but we haven’t done that this season.

“It just shows that we can do it…and that’s got to be the bar set as Linfield are the best team in the league.

“To come here and get that result is massive for us.”
