Bobby’s Beaming

COLERAINE FC would like to congratulate Bobby Jack McAleese for being called-up to Northern Ireland’s U17 training camp next week…

The midfielder has been rewarded for some impressive performances – notably against Manchester United last week – to make Gerard Lyttle’s panel.

Back in early June the U17s defeated Wales U16s/U17s and lost to England’s U17s during a camp in England.

That camp marked the start of preparations for a UEFA Under-17 Euros preliminary round and next week’s camp based at Templepatrick and Greenmount in Co Antrim will continue those preparations.

The under-17’s will be playing two friendlies – against the Northern Ireland U16 Schoolboys squad and Larne U20s.

Speaking to colerainefc.com, Coleraine U18’s boss Martin Smith insists McAleese’s call-up is fully deserved.

“Bobby is a top young player with a bright future in the game,” he said.

“He is one of the best young midfield players in the country and he fully deserves this call-up.

“Bobby lives only five minutes away from The Showgrounds and everyone wishes him well.

“We would also like to congratulate goalkeeper Conor Henry who is on stand-by for the squad.”
