Boss demanding improvement

COLERAINE will hope to bounce back from their first defeat of the season as they welcome Carrick Rangers to The Showgrounds (KO 3pm)…

Danske Bank Premiership

Overview:

The Bannsiders suffered their first loss in the Danske Bank Premiership last weekend as defensive errors cost them dear at Warrenpoint Town. After Jamie Glackin found an equaliser, the Stripes failed to capitalise and were punished as Alan O’Sullivan and Brandon Doyle found the back of the net. The visitors have been on an impressive run of form of late despite losing to Crusaders last Friday night.

Recent meetings:

The two sides met last month and Coleraine took the lead through Eoin Bradley’s close range finish, but they were pegged back minutes later as Caolan Loughran netted from the spot. Just as the game looked destined to finish all square at the break, Coleraine regained the lead as Nedas Maciulaitis’ effort deflected in off Loughran. The Stripes sealed all three points after the break through Aaron Jarvis’ header and Aaron Traynor’s first goal for the club.

Manager’s Thoughts:

“I went to watch Carrick against Crusaders and they gave them their fill of it,” Kearney said.

“If we are in or around that level of performance like we produced against Warrenpoint, then Carrick will chin us so make no bones about it.

“The reality is we are part of a race that we want to be a part of, but the key thing is that we get right back up on the horse.”

Admission:

Supporters are reminded that entry is via valid matchday cards/season tickets only.
