Brown returns

COLERAINE boss Oran Kearney has confirmed that Dean Brown has returned to Limavady United on a permanent basis…

The winger joined the Bannsiders in the summer transfer window but has since made the decision to go back to Andy Law’s side.

Speaking to colerainefc.com, Kearney admits the goal posts changed due to other arrivals at The Showgrounds.

“When you go into any transfer window, you have a list of targets that you want to try and secure and Dean was on that list,” he said.

“We believed there was a pathway there for minutes and to see how he would get on.

“However, the arrivals of Lee Lynch and Evan McLaughlin weren’t pre-planned but ones that we had to go for.

“With that, it meant Dean’s time would be more limited as he had a huge amount of traffic in front of him.

“All Dean knows is playing football as he featured 45 times last season for Limavady United but he hadn’t made it into our matchday panel yet.

“As such, we didn’t want him to be unhappy or frustrated and I wanted to have a conversation with Dean to see what suited him.

“His attitude since he’s been here has been brilliant and I’m sure he will hit the ground running at Limavady United again as he will play plenty of football.

“We wish him nothing but the best and we will be keeping a close eye on Dean moving forward.”
