BTEC Update

FULL-TIME education students at The Showgrounds have embarked on an eight-week coach education programme…

Students from our full-time Education and Football BTEC Sports course took their first steps into coach education as they attended the first session of the Irish FA’s referee award, delivered by Andrew Davey, Head of Referee Development.

The coach education programme has been designed in partnership with Dan Chambers, IFA Education Officer, and will see students complete The Referee’s Award, Grassroots Introduction to Coaching Award and the Coaching Disabled Footballers Award.

We are delighted to welcome students from North Coast Integrated College to join us on the coach education programme as we continue to strengthen our working relationship with the College.

Students didn’t have to wait long to put their newly acquired referee knowledge to the test as they helped to referee a primary school friendly game between Milburn Primary and Irish Society at The Showgrounds.
