Carson Crowned

COLERAINE FC offers its congratulations to Josh Carson who has been named as the colerainefc.com Player of the Year…

The 28-year-old, who has played in a variety of positions so far this season, topped the polls ahead of Matthew Shevlin in second and Lyndon Kane in third.

Carson has made 46 appearances for the Bannsiders this term, scoring four times in the process, as he closes in on 200 games for the club since arriving in May 2018.

Other votes were cast for Gareth Deane, Rodney Brown, Stephen Lowry, Eoin Bradley, Jamie Glackin, Patrick Kelly and Kirk McLaughlin.

Speaking after being announced as the winner, Carson said: “It is obviously nice to be recognised by the fans over the course of a season and I’m extremely thankful.

“They have always been our driving force, our 12th man and I’ve certainly built up a good rapport with them since I joined.

“As a team, this season has probably been a frustrating one but if we can secure Europe, then it will have turned into a good campaign.

“On an individual basis, I’m pleased to have played so many games and I’m buzzing to collect this award as it is voted by supporters which means that bit more.”

colerainefc.com would once again like to thank Clement Dealey Photography for sponsoring the award, as well as to all those who submitted their votes.
