Century for Josh

colerainefc.com takes a look at Josh Carson’s career in the Blue and White stripes after making his 100th appearance for the club on Friday night…

After spells in England with Ipswich Town and York City, the Antrim man would return home and sign for Linfield, winning the Danske Bank Premiership and Irish Cup in the process at Windsor Park.

However, a lack of game time at the Blues would turn out to be Coleraine’s gain as the Bannsiders announced the midfielder’s arrival on a two-year deal on May 11, 2017.

The former Northern Ireland international would make his debut for the club in the 7-0 defeat against FK Haugesund in the Europa League, before registering his first goal against Linfield in the Charity Shield final.

Carson would make 40 appearances during 2017-18 and scored 11 times. His contribution would prove vital as the Bannsiders narrowly missed out on the Gibson Cup, before suspension ruled him out of the Irish Cup final win against Cliftonville. His fine performances throughout his first season at The Showgrounds was rewarded with a new three-year deal.

The 26-year-old made 33 appearances, scoring 4 goals last season and he has made 27 appearances so far this campaign.

As popular with the fans as he is with the players, here’s hoping for many more hundreds of games in a Coleraine shirt for Josh.
