Interview

Chairman full of praise for volunteers

To mark National Volunteer Week, Coleraine FC Chairman, Colin McKendry thanks all the volunteers to make Coleraine FC the community club that they are…

Speaking at the conclusion of another successful season for the Bannsiders, he was keen to recognise the great work that goes into that success both on and off the field.

“The 2019/20 and 2020/21 season will both go down in history for many things. They have been strange, tough and enjoyable in equal measure.

“Throughout the whole period, we have been supported unfailingly by a huge number of volunteers, without whom we simply could not function. On behalf of the whole club, board, players, coaches and fans, I want to place those thanks and recognition on record.

“At Coleraine we pride ourselves on being a true community club. We live and work together and we are at the heart of our community and we want that to grow even stronger.

“We are a club playing in the Danske Bank Premiership, however, when I look at the skills, experience and expertise of our wonderful volunteers, I would rank us alongside any sporting organisation in the country.

“This week we have a great stride being taken in the development of our club, but as we say bye to the old pitch and look forward to the facility development at The Showgrounds, I want to ensure that we recognise that everything we do is for the North Coast community and everything that we achieve is down to the hard work and dedication of our volunteers.

“With that in mind we head into an off-season like no other and we thank our volunteers, and we look forward to enjoying many more years together. C’mon the Bannsiders”
