Coleraine appoint Development Director

COLERAINE FC have taken their next step in securing the long-term health of the club by appointing Gary Tasker as Development Director…

Gary arrives at the club with an extremely successful track record in sport and over 30 years’ experience in his portfolio. He was the Chief Executive Officer and main architect of the ground-breaking Bradford Bulls Rugby League Club before moving on to become the Development Director for the Rugby Football League, a position where he presided over unprecedented growth in both participation and finances. He relocated to the north coast with his family several years ago and has been a regular on the terraces at The Showgrounds.

Gary welcomes the opportunity to be involved in his local football club saying, “I am really excited by the vision that the Board have for the club. The current success is based upon a really high-quality football programme along with incredible input from numerous volunteers and support groups, and we have the opportunity to build an off-field operation that will sustain and grow that success.

“The stadium and the training ground have huge potential as a sports and community hub adjacent to the town centre. We sit at the heart of the community and we want to engage with as wide and diverse a group as possible.

“Nothing has the potential to pull a community together like a sports club and we intend to use our position to contribute further towards the morale and wellbeing of the whole community.”

Coleraine Chairman, Colin McKendry said, “In welcoming Gary to the club, we know that we have someone with the character, experience and drive to deliver the Board’s clear vision for the club. We want to be a successful and sustainable club both on and off the field and to use our presence and profile to boost our local community.”
