Coleraine FC Remembers

REPRESENTATIVES of Coleraine FC Board of Directors, Supporters’ Clubs, stewards and supporters gathered together to Remember the Fallen with a short Act of Remembrance…

The service took place at the front of the Main Stand at The Showgrounds last Saturday afternoon prior to the home game against Linfield.

Rev. Robert McMullan, New Row Presbyterian Church, Club Chaplain, officiated at the Ceremony with Coleraine RBL Chairman Bill Mills reciting the “Ode of Remembrance” by Binyon:

“They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn;
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning,
We will Remember Them.”

Following the Last Post, and two minutes silence, wreaths were laid by Coleraine Football Club, Coleraine FC Stewards, Spirit of ’74 Supporters Club, and The Wes Gregg Supporters Club.

Following the Ceremony, Paddy Peacock presented a donation to Bill Mills, Chairman of Coleraine Royal British Legion with a donation towards the Poppy Appeal on behalf of the Spirit of ’74 Supporters Club, and Alan McLean also presented a donation toward the Poppy Appeal to the Chairman, on behalf of the Coleraine FC Stewards.
