Collective effort needed, says Carson

JOSH Carson is hoping that the Bannsiders can repeat their performance from last weekend but get the points to show for it as they travel to Crusaders tomorrow afternoon…

Oran Kearney’s men dominated large spells of last weekend’s fixture against Cliftonville but a lack of killer instinct in front of goal would prove to be their downfall as they were edged out by the Reds.

However, despite being disappointed at not having any points to reflect their efforts, Carson is eager to maintain the level of performance ahead of the visit to Seaview.

“It’s another tough one,” he told Coleraine TV.

“We just need to get everyone behind us and backing us.

“We’re going to have to roll into it with our sleeves up and do exactly what we did against Cliftonville.

“We worked hard, good at first and second balls, brilliant all over the pitch, our passing was slick and we created chances.

“We did everything but get points out of the game.”

Carson, who has been at the club since 2018, acknowledged the importance of the Coleraine support and has called on them once again to give their tremendous backing on the road.

“It’s frustrating and I know it’s frustrating for the fans, it’s frustrating for us, the staff and everyone involved with the club,” he added.

“It’s a hard time, it’s a hard period but I can’t fault the support of the fans and what they’ve done for us since I’ve been here.

“We just need them there tomorrow to be our 12th man and give us that extra 10 or 15% as we need it at the minute.

“Hopefully the fans saw last Saturday that we’ve done everything we can to get something out of it.”
