COLERAINE Women kept up their quest for promotion with a 4-2 victory against Antrim Town Women last night…
The Bannsiders had to work hard for their victory, however, as Antrim Town struck first with a clinical finish with just seven minutes on the clock at The Showgrounds.
But Coleraine quickly rallied to level the scores when Shannon Friel pounced to equalise three minutes later, before the same player hit again to put the Bannsiders ahead.
After chances at both ends, the hosts then extended their advantage as Friel completed her hat-trick with another composed effort when through on goal.
To their credit, Antrim Town kept going and halved the arrears several minutes after the restart.
However, the two-goal cushion was quickly restored when Alex Bachman-Williams found the back of the net with a powerful strike.
Coleraine held firm a hard-fought three points which ensures they remain second in the table.
