‘Confidence is high in the camp’ – Nicholl

COLERAINE Ladies will hope to make it back-to-back wins as they face Ballymacash Ladies this evening (KO 7:30pm)…

The Bannsiders make the trip to Lisburn to face the Bluebells who have recorded two victories from two so far this campaign.

However, after suffering an opening day defeat to Larne, Nicholl’s girls recovered in fine style to defeat Portadown at the University.

Speaking ahead of the fixture, Coleraine boss Alison Nicholl insists that win against Ports has given her side a new lease of life.

“We are looking forward to the fixture against Ballymacash Ladies tonight,” she said.

“It will be a tough game in their new stadium in Lisburn.

“We have played them regularly over the years and all the games have proven to be tight encounters.

“However, off the back of the win against Portadown, confidence is high in the camp and we had good numbers at training on Tuesday night.”

Nicholl confirmed that she will be without the services of Olivia Doherty and Rachel Stewart for the fixture but knows this will present a chance for other members of the squad to impress.

“We are working on bits and pieces for the game but unfortunately we are without Olivia Doherty who is an influential midfielder, as well as Rachel Stewart who played well at right-back against Portadown is also in England,” she continued.

“However, we do have Darian McVicker and Kitty Greer coming back into the squad, so we are looking forward to it.

“NIWFA are going to be there filming it, so we will be able to see the highlights and all the details from the fixture.

“We are going there to win it, we do know it’s going to be tough but hopefully everyone will be up for the game and we can get another three points on the board.”
