CONGRATULATIONS to Conor McDermott who has been named as the colerainefc.com Player of the Year for 2022/23…

The defender has been a mainstay in the Bannsiders’ defence since arriving in the summer and has made a total of 42 appearances in all competitions, scoring once in the process.

McDermott was also the recipient of the Fibrus Coleraine FC Player of the Month for October.

The 25-year-old topped the voting by a single vote over Mathew Shevlin in second and Lyndon Kane in third.

“It’s always nice to be recognised,” McDermott said.

“The season hasn’t ended how we would have liked but we have potentially two games to qualify for Europe.

“It has been a good campaign for me personally as it’s been great to get back on the pitch on a consistent basis and hopefully that continues into next season.

“I would like to thank the fans for their votes and support both on and off the pitch as I’ve been made to feel more than welcome since arriving.”
