Decade Away

COLERAINE will be on their travels for the final time this decade as they face Cliftonville at Solitude (KO 3pm)…

Danske Bank Premiership

Overview:

Coleraine remained in second spot in the Premiership table last weekend after a 2-2 draw against Larne at Inver Park. The Bannsiders would trail after eight minutes as David McDaid slotted home from close range. However, Coleraine would turn the game on its head to lead before the half-time whistle as Eoin Bradley scored from a tight angle, before Josh Carson prodded home from close range. After missing a few chances to go two goals clear, Larne would punish the visitors by equalising through Mark Randall’s smart finish. Due to the sad passing of Jerry Thompson, Cliftonville’s fixture against Carrick Rangers was postponed last weekend.

Recent meetings:

Coleraine and Cliftonville met on the opening day of the season on the Ballycastle Road and Eoin Bradley’s effort looked like being enough to secure all three points for Oran Kearney’s men. However, on 89 minutes, a ball from Ryan Curran would find Joe Gormley unmarked inside the area and he found the bottom corner to steal a point for the Reds.

Manager’s Thoughts:

“We’ve gone from Glentoran, to away to Larne last week and then away to Cliftonville this weekend,” Kearney added.

“The games come thick and fast at this part of the season, but that’s what it’s all about.

“We’re happy with the chances we are creating and that’s a sign that the performances are in the right place.

“The key thing is we’ve just got to be more ruthless and put the ball in the back of the net.”

Admission:

Admission has been set at £12 adults, £8 concessions.
