Development Pathway Strategy

COLERAINE FC Youths are pleased to publish the club’s Development Pathway Strategy from 2021 to 2024…

This 2021-2024 Strategy outlines the Vision, Mission, Values and the Key Aims and Objectives of Coleraine Football Club’s Youth Development Pathway (YDP). It also sets the context in which the strategy is influenced and set.

The development of this strategy forms a key stage in the implementation and progression of a recently restructured YDP within Coleraine FC Ltd (CFC). This is to ensure that CFC continue to meet emerging changes and thinking on youth football development and maintain its position as a leader in this field. This realignment also provided the opportunity to amalgamate Bertie Peacock Youths within the structures of CFC.

To facilitate and manage this realignment, a YDP committee was established and a Director of the Junior Academy appointed. The committee is responsible for the development of the YDP and associated governance matters and is accountable to the Board of CFC.

As such, the committee has developed this Strategy and will be responsible for its implementation.

David Platt, Junior Academy Director, said: “More than ever football and sport in general is more central to healthy bodies and healthy brains.

“Our holistic approach gives attention to aspects such as social belongingness, inclusion, respect, along with the development of individual ability irrespective of perceived potential talent.

“Coleraine FC is the only Premiership club in the North West. In this context the club is a key element in our community to develop linkages between the youth of the area and community partnerships.”
