DARREN Boyce would have a memorable goal celebration as he netted last minute winner against Donegal Celtic back in 2010…

Date:

Saturday, October 23, 2010

Result:

Coleraine 3-2 Donegal Celtic

Goals – Knight (’26 mins), Boyce (’48 mins & ’88 mins); Gargan (’28 mins), Henderson (’49 mins)

Report:

Darren Boyce risks a ticking off after joining Coleraine fans on the terraces to celebrate his last gasp winner against Donegal Celtic.

The striker jumped the perimeter wall behind the goal to enjoy his moment of triumph among the Showgrounds faithful.

“It was just a spontaneous act. I hadn’t planned to do it,” he pleaded afterwards. I was just so relieved we had managed to score again after throwing away the lead twice in the game.”

Boyce might face a reprimand for his boisterous action but it would be harsh on the enthusiastic forward.

“It’s been a frustrating road back because I missed out on pre-season training and I’ve been pushing myself with my physio to try and catch up,” he revealed.

Former Chelsea apprentice Leon Knight headed Coleraine into a 26th minute lead before long range free-kick specialist Ciaran Gargan replied.

Celtic keeper Declan Brown’s howler gifted Boyce his first goal but Ryan Henderson netted after the break. Despite being down to ten men after Marc Mukendi’s red card, Coleraine snatched a last eight place through Boyce.
