90 minutes of football failed to separate the two teams but it wasn’t for the want of trying as Coleraine striker Matthew Shevlin and Larne ace Andy Ryan both went close at either end.

Kearney conceded that his side needed some last-ditch blocking to keep the visitors at bay but knows they had chances of their own, including Shevlin’s effort which went the wrong side of the post with three minutes remaining.

The result is the Bannsiders’ third clean sheet in succession and Kearney believes that’s down to a “steady team selection” and it was a “great shift” by his players.

The boss also looks ahead to next weekend’s fixture away at Crusaders.
