COLERAINE will hope to make it back-to-back league wins for the first time this season as they host Dungannon Swifts tomorrow afternoon (KO 3pm)…
Danske Bank Premiership
The Stripes were victorious last Friday night as a brace from Stephen Lowry and strikes from Ben Doherty and Nedas Maciulaitis sealed a 4-0 win against Glenavon at Mourneview Park. As for the Swifts, they lost their first game of the season last time out as they were beaten 3-0 by Crusaders at Seaview.
The two sides first met last season at The Showgrounds and goals from Darren McCauley (pen) and James McLaughlin edged all three points towards the Bannsiders. However, Kris Lindsay’s troops would avenge that defeat as they ran out 2-1 winners on the Ballycastle Road as Oisin Smyth’s deflected strike separated the teams. The third clash was won by Coleraine as first-half strikes from James McLaughlin and Stephen Lowry sealed a 2-0 success.
Bannsiders boss Oran Kearney will once again be without the services of Eoin Bradley through suspension, with Aaron Traynor and Gareth McConaghie also ruled out through injury. The fixture may also provide Aaron Jarvis, Nedas Maciulaitis and Martin Gallagher with their home debuts.
“I wouldn’t say Dungannon Swifts are a surprise package,” Kearney said.
“I know Kris well, I played with him, he’s a competitor and a good guy, and knows his football.
“It’s been great to see them up there and having that start, but ideally I want to end that.
“The queue for teams challenging for the top will make for a really exciting league.”
Supporters are reminded that entry is via valid matchday cards/season tickets only.
