CHARLES Dunne says he is taking one game at a time in his recovery after recently returning from injury…
The defender made his comeback during the recent derby day victory against Ballymena United, before completing the entire 90 minutes of last weekend’s 4-0 triumph against Dungannon Swifts.
The ex-St Mirren and Motherwell ace missed several weeks of action after being hurt away at Glenavon – but he is thankfully back and looking forward to the task ahead.
He explained: “I’m not too bad now. Obviously, the schedule just coming up might be a bit tricky for me, but listen, just taking each game as it comes.
“I’ll recover as best as I can and just go from there.
“Injuries are the worst part of football, but I can’t watch games.
“Watching the boys killed me, even if we were winning.
“Obviously, there were a few two losses in there, unfortunately, but it’s not good for my heart.”
Dunne and his Coleraine colleagues make the trip to Portadown this afternoon and the 32-year-old acknowledged how both teams go into the clash full of confidence.
“Yes, they had a good win, they’ll be on a high, but we had a good win also,” he added.
“As long as we keep a clean sheet, I think we can get the three points with the attacking players that we have.”
