COLERAINE FC is delighted to announce that Oran Kearney has agreed a new three-year contract extension at The Showgrounds…
Kearney – who has been in the charge of the club since February 2011 – steered the Bannsiders to European football and an Irish Cup final appearance last season.
The deal comes on the eve of Coleraine’s first league game against Dungannon Swifts, and chairman Colin McKendry is delighted that Kearney has committed his long-term future with the Bannsiders.
“The new deal is a reward for our terrific season last year,” McKendry said.
“It is no secret that the young players at the club have all agreed long-term contracts because of Oran.
“As a club we believe he is the man to further their development.
“The contract had been on the table for a long time, but with the cup final and Europe we had to put it to the back burner.
“We are delighted to have Oran in charge for the next three years.”
Kearney admits negotiations didn’t take long and he has ‘loved his time’ in the managerial hot seat.
“It was very easy to sort out my new contract after I spoke with Colin and a few Board of Directors,” Kearney added.
“I am very happy to commit to the club for the next three years.
“A lot of younger players have been brought through and have signed new contracts and I felt I should do the same.
“I have loved my six and a half years here and we will try and replicate our success from last season.”
