DEAN Jarvis says he is pleased to commit his immediate future to the Bannsiders after agreeing terms on a new deal at The Showgrounds…
The defender’s contract was due to expire at the end of this season but he will now add to the 126 appearances he has already made since joining in the summer of 2022 from Larne.
Jarvis, who has also previously been on the books at Aberdeen, Derry City and Dundalk, says the update has come at a perfect time as he can still remain to focus on matters on the pitch without pondering about what happens next in his career.
“I’m delighted to sign a new deal with Coleraine,” he told the club’s website.
“It is exciting times for the club so there’s nowhere else I’d rather be playing my football than with Coleraine.
“Going into the last year of your contract – it’s always on the back of your mind.
“But I was fully focussed trying to perform and doing my best for the team.
“I’m buzzing to get everything sorted now and concentrate on the rest of the season.”
Jarvis previously worked with his current manager Ruaidhri Higgins at Dundalk and he is loving linking-up with him yet again under a full-time model on the Ballycastle Road.
He explained: “I’m enjoying working under Ruaidhri and his staff.
“I worked with Ruaidhri in the past and I think he knows what I can do and offer to the team.
“He’s a really good manager, he knows the game inside out tactically and I’m looking forward to the next few years.
“I was full-time for the majority of my career and then part-time for two seasons with Coleraine.
“I enjoyed it but there was something missing with the full-time aspect as you’re in every day, see the lads and it gives you the best opportunity to compete.”
