First two goals “gifts” – OK

COLERAINE boss Oran Kearney labelled his side’s start to the game as “crazy” as they were beaten by Cliftonville at The Showgrounds…

The Bannsiders missed a glorious opportunity to take the lead inside the opening minute but were left to rue that miss as Rory Hale scored a a quick fire double to have the Reds two goals to the good after eight minutes.

After getting back into the contest through Conor McKendry’s deflected effort, Kearney was once again left to rue individual errors as his side conceded from a corner kick as Ryan Curran nodded in from Jamie McDonagh’s delivery.

Kearney was also frustrated with his side’s performance in the last ten minutes as they didn’t kick on after Matthew Shevlin reduced the arrears to a single goal before Joe Gormley converted from close range.

The boss also gave an injury update on Rodney Brown, Stephen Lowry, Andrew Mitchell and Michael McCrudden, as well as looking ahead to next weekend’s fixture against Portadown.
