A solitary goal from Joel Cooper was enough to earn Coleraine their sixth Premiership victory in a row as the Bannsiders defeated Limavady United...
With the demands of three games in eight days, Ruaidhri Higgins made five changes from the midweek success at Glentoran as Cameron Stewart, Levi Ives, Senan Devine, Dylan Boyle and Lewis McGregor were handed starts.
Due to a kit clash, Coleraine had to wear their yellow away strip and threatened first on three minutes when Lewis McGregor's cross on the right picked out Adam Brooks but the striker was unable to direct his header on target.
Soon after, an exquisite ball by Will Patching released the run of Joel Cooper but he couldn't breach Marty Gallagher, before Stewart headed over from a corner kick delivery.
Limavady were content to sit deep and allow Coleraine to have all the ball as the Stripes continued to create more chances. A well-driven free-kick by Patching flew over the bar, with Tiarnan Boorman then getting a vital block to take any impact out of Cooper's effort.
Gallagher, who had a spell at Coleraine between the sticks, was beginning to get busy as he then held onto Stewart's thumping effort from distance and then saved from Patching after a neat one-two involving Brooks.
However, the breakthrough arrived in the final minute of the first half as patience was finally rewarded. A clever pass by Dylan Boyle found Cooper and his sliding effort went beyond the reach of Gallagher and into the net.
The second half followed a similar pattern to the first as Coleraine dominated possession and territory, with Cooper going close to adding his second as his curler from the edge of the box just sailed over.
Cooper was doing everything he could to try and find that second killer goal for his side and he threatened again on 73 minutes. The attacker went on a mazy run and his goal-bound effort was blocked by the United defence.
Opportunities kept knocking on the door as Cooper once again just couldn't send an effort the right of the post, before Ben Doherty stabbed wide after being played through by Patching.
The Bannsiders survived any real scares at the other end as one goal was enough to take the spoils.
