COLERAINE boss Oran Kearney reflected on an “indifferent day” as the Bannsiders sealed all three points against Newry City…

A first-half goal from Josh Carson had the visitors well on their way before Michael McCrudden struck just after the hour mark, and despite the hosts halving the deficit from the spot, Kearney’s boys held on for an important victory.

The boss remarked it was a strange day due to a pitch inspection but that the pitch held up well and credited his players for how they managed the conditions.

Kearney spoke about the two goals his side scored as well as commenting on the penalty decision awarded to Newry, before focusing on the assignment against Portadown this weekend.

With the transfer window still open, Kearney commented that he is still on the lookout to add to his squad and added his appreciation to the fans who travelled to the Newry Showgrounds.
