DEAN Shiels spoke to Coleraine TV after the Bannsiders ended 2024 with a win at Loughgall last night…

After trailing at half-time through Conor McCloskey’s free-kick, the visitors ensured they would leave with all three points as Matthew Shevlin, Jamie Glackin and Rhyss Campbell all found the back of the net.

Shiels said the game was secondary in regards to the sad news of the sudden passing of Cliftonville defender Michael Newberry, which he labelled as “a terrible tragedy”.

The head coach said Coleraine had to simply “find a way” to recover from the deficit and commented on all three goals.

Shiels also provided an update in regards to potential activity in the January transfer window, as well as the upcoming Irish Cup tie against Armagh City.
