COLERAINE FC is delighted to announce a special partnership with NI Foster Care, as they take over our social media channels in the lead-up to this today’s crucial Premiership clash against Larne…

This initiative is designed to shine a light on the vital role of foster care and inspire more people to consider fostering as a life-changing opportunity for children in need.

Foster care provides children and young people who cannot live with their birth families with a safe, loving home where they feel valued, respected, and supported. As of March 2024, 3,359 children and young people in Northern Ireland rely on foster care. Every child deserves a stable home, and foster carers play a crucial role in offering that security and care.

Throughout this week, Coleraine FC’s social media platforms have been dedicated to sharing powerful stories from NI Foster Care, featuring the experiences of foster carers and the incredible impact they have on children’s lives.

Henry Ross, Coleraine FC’s majority shareholder and executive chairman, shared his personal connection to the cause, saying: “Foster care is something deeply personal to me. My grandparents dedicated over 30 years of their lives to fostering and were the first couple ever to receive MBEs simultaneously for their incredible service.

“The impact they had on so many young lives was profound, and I have seen first-hand the difference a loving and supportive foster home can make.

“Coleraine FC is proud to use our platform to champion this cause and raise awareness about the urgent need for more foster carers in Northern Ireland.”

Children enter the foster care system for many reasons, including family illness, neglect, or abuse. Some may also have disabilities that require specialist care. Foster carers provide much-needed stability, guidance, and love—helping children to thrive in a secure environment.

Coleraine FC encourages anyone considering becoming a foster carer to take the next step. If you want to make a difference in a child’s life, contact HSC Northern Ireland Adoption and Foster Care on 0800 0720 137 or visit their website.
