COLERAINE Women marked a return to NIWFA Division 2 proceedings in fine style by picking up all three points against Antrim Town Women last night…
Despite the damp weather making an untimely appearance, the Bannsiders made a bright start and took the lead through a clinical finish by Shannon Friel.
The advantage was soon doubled as Alex Bachman-Williams’ powerful effort left the home ‘keeper with no chance.
A commanding display by the whole squad was then rewarded with a third goal before half-time as Faye Colley was in the right place at the right time to dispatch beyond the ‘keeper.
To their credit, Antrim showed their own battling spirit by grabbing a goal back before the interval.
However, a complete display by the whole squad yielded another goal in the second half as Friel completed her brace to ensure Coleraine left with a 4-1 victory.
A great win for the women who are getting better with every game.
