COLERAINE Women kept up their promotion push with a 4-2 win over 22nd Ladies last night…

In a match played in warm conditions, the Bannsiders made all the early running and took the lead inside the opening minute when Faye Colley found the back of the net.

However, that advantage only last six minutes when 22nd Ladies equalised with a good finish of their own.

The goals just kept up coming as Coleraine made it 2-1 through Sam Miskimmon and then the advantage was doubled when Chelsea Moore got in on the act.

Just before the half-time whistle, Coleraine had a fourth goal to celebrate as top scorer Shannon Friel kept up her great form by notching another strike.

To their credit, 22nd Ladies kept battling and pulled a goal back at the start of the second half but Coleraine were able to see the game out for a 4-2 victory.

A good success for the first-team but our thoughts are with Sam Miskimmon who suffered a dislocated shoulder and we wish her a speedy recovery.
