Friel excited to get started

CATHAIR Friel admits he is delighted to finally seal his much anticipated move to the Bannsiders…

The striker has made a return to The Showgrounds on a three-year deal after spells with Limavady United, Ballymena United and Carrick Rangers.

The Limavady native insists he was pleased to put pen-to-paper and link up with Oran Kearney once again.

The 28-year-old revealed that he hasn’t set himself any targets for the season ahead but hopes to at least hit double figures.

Speaking at the press conference, boss Kearney believes that Friel will be ‘hungry’ to succeed on the Ballycastle Road and that the striker is entering the best years of his career.

Kearney has spoken of his determination to add more goals to his side and knows that Friel could be the man to provide the ammunition.
