‘Glad to get my first goal’ – Shevlin

MATTHEW Shevlin spoke to Coleraine TV after scoring his first goal for the club last night…

The striker was introduced as a first-half substitute and he powered home a header after a fantastic cross by Stephen Lowry just before the half-time whistle.

Shevlin highlighted the importance of bagging all three points ahead of today’s Danske Bank Premiership fixtures and heaped praise on Lowry for his assist.

The January arrival admits it was quite difficult being introduced as a substitute as the injury to Josh Carson happened quickly but was delighted to make an immediate impact.

The Bannsiders entertain Carrick Rangers next Saturday and the 22-year-old acknowledged that there are no easy games in the Irish Premiership.
