Coleraine Football Club is thrilled to announce the successful securing of a generous £400,000 grant from the IFA/DCMS Grassroots Community Football Grant.

This substantial financial injection will play a pivotal role in advancing the club’s ongoing efforts to enhance its facilities and promote grassroots football development.

The grant will be dedicated to the construction of a state-of-the-art synthetic training pitch, strategically located adjacent to the iconic stadium at The Showgrounds.

This development is poised to revolutionize training for Coleraine’s players and youth teams, ensuring they have access to top-quality facilities that will help them achieve their best on the pitch.

Chairman Colin McKendry expressed his absolute delight at the news of this much-needed financial boost, emphasizing the positive impact it will have on the club’s future.

He said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been awarded this generous grant from the IFA/DCMS Grassroots Community Football Grant. It is a significant milestone for Coleraine Football Club and our community.

“This investment will not only elevate our training capabilities but also strengthen our commitment to nurturing local talent.”

McKendry went on to highlight the significant progress made at The Showgrounds in recent years, adding: “This grant brings the total investment at The Showgrounds to an impressive £1.2 million over the last two years. We have made remarkable strides in our quest to transform The Showgrounds into the North West Regional Stadium, a hub for football excellence in the region.”

The Development Committee, led by David Boyd, has been instrumental in driving forward the club’s ambitious business plan. Their dedication and hard work continue to steer the club toward its vision of becoming the North West Regional Stadium. With this latest grant, their vision is one step closer to realization.
