COLERAINE FC had representation at McDonald’s Causeway Coast and Glens event last week…

An independent economic report commissioned by McDonald’s to mark 45 years of operations in the UK, reveals the business and its supply chain partners have made a combined contribution of £10.59m in the Causeway Coast and Glens area, with a wider contribution of £99million across Northern Ireland.

The report highlights both direct and indirect GVA in the Causeway Coast and Glens Area, with McDonald’s employing 160 people in Coleraine and more than 3,100 across Northern Ireland. McDonald’s has also confirmed that they are set to invest in a further restaurant in Coleraine which will create 65 new jobs, further enhancing the brand’s economic footprint in the Causeway Coast and Glens area. McDonald’s has operated in the council area for 25 years, with a successful Coleraine restaurant in operation since 1994.

A reception to celebrate McDonald’s contribution and future plans in the area was held at Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council and was attended by Deputy Mayor Sharon McKillop and Richard Johnston, Deputy Director of Ulster University’s Economic Policy Centre who provided economic projections for the council area and an analysis of McDonald’s contribution to the local economy.
