Signing

Hark now hear

COLERAINE FC is thrilled to announce the signing of Lee Harkin, pending international clearance…

The L/Derry native becomes the fifth arrival of the summer transfer window after impressing for the club during pre-season training and the friendly against Portadown late last month.

The former Tristar youth player shot to fame in 2018 as he netted two spectacular goals against Manchester United for County Londonderry in the SuperCupNI tournament.

Harkin then made the move to Wolverhampton Wanderers from Derry City in 2019 and appeared for the club’s U18s and U23s during his time at Molineux.

Furthermore, he would play his part in James Collins’ 2021/22 promotion winning squad, as Wolves returned to the highest tier of youth football, alongside reaching the final of the Premier League Cup in the same season.

Harkin’s versatility means he can play in a multitude of attacking areas and despite receiving interest from clubs across the UK and Ireland, boss Oran Kearney was delighted to get his man on the eve of the new season.

He said: “Lee came in and played against Portadown and his ability was clear to see on the day.

“As he was coming home from Wolves, Lee quite rightly took his time to assess his options and we fully understood that.

“Thankfully, he has chosen to sign for Coleraine and we are all looking forward to working with him and seeing him out on the pitch.”

The Club can confirm that Harkin will wear the number 28 shirt.
