RUAIDHRI Higgins labelled his side’s defeat to Linfield as ‘a disappointing night’ as they lost for the first time in the BOYLE Sports Premiership this season…

The Blues left The Showgrounds with all three points following the 3-1 victory.

Higgins admitted his team were “second best” throughout proceedings and that they didn’t do the basics well enough.

Coleraine had a goal disallowed through Matthew Shevlin when the scoreline was 2-0, and whilst Higgins didn’t use it as an excuse for the end result, he did believe the strike should have stood as Linfield compounded that by making it 3-0 with the next phase of play.

Higgins added how the coaching staff and squad can learn plenty from the defeat and a look ahead to the next nine days as Coleraine face Limavady United in the North-West Cup and Bangor in the Premiership.
