The popular defender has decided to hang the boots up after a six-year spell at The Showgrounds and he recalled on his time at the club and working under boss Oran Kearney.

The Dervock native discussed how difficult the decision was to retire, having his father at games taking photographs and how he worked hard with his rehabilitation to try and overcome the injury.

McConaghie insists he won’t forget all the memories he has made and praised the players, medical staff, Board of Directors and management staff for all their support.
