LEVI Ives insists he can’t wait to get his Coleraine career up and running after joining the club on a multi-year deal from Larne…
The defender became the Bannsiders’ third signing of the January transfer window after sealing a switch from the Inver Reds for an undisclosed fee.
The 27-year-old spoke to Johnny McNabb after training this morning and expressed his delight at getting the deal over the line.
He said: “I’m delighted to get everything sorted.
“I can’t wait to get started playing games with the lads and see where it takes us.
“I came into my last six months of my contract and I wasn’t really sure where my future was.
“But I’m glad to be on board and once I met Dean and Oran, I knew I was going to be a Coleraine player.
“I always thought Coleraine was a great club and anytime I came down here, it was filled with fans and they’ve got a great backing.
“It’s always good playing in front of a good fan base and things like that.
“They were always hard to play against so it will be good to play in a team that has that bit of freedom to go and express yourself.”
Ives, who has also played for Torquay United, Bristol City and Cliftonville during his career, believes he can settle in quickly to his new surroundings due to knowing several members of the squad.
“I’ve played against Lyndon since I was probably ten years of age right up until now,” he laughed.
“There’s plenty of boys there like Corey Smith, Graham Kelly, Ronan Doherty and Paddy Burns…so there’s plenty of faces I know.
“I’ve been made to feel really welcome since I came into the building earlier today.
“I’ve got my injuries over me and it’s time to kick on even more and see where it can take me.”
