COLERAINE Ladies held their annual Awards Evening last Saturday night in the Anchor Complex, Portstewart…
A number of awards were presented on the night by Coleraine Ladies manager, Alison Nicholl and special guest, Trevor Hogg.
Commenting on the past year, Ladies manager Alison Nicholl believes there are positives to take and has targeted promotion next season for her side.
“We finished third in the league and just missed out on promotion,” she said.
“Larne pipped us by three points to finish second and it went down to the last game to see if we would go up a division.
“The League Cup semi-final defeat to Ballymacash was a tough one to take as we led 3-1 with ten minutes to go, and then lost on penalties. Ballymacash went on to beat Foyle Belles in the final.
“Overall, it was a good season but I’m disappointed we didn’t get promoted or win silverware.
“We picked up a few injuries which ended our seven match unbeaten run, but hopefully with a few new additions to the squad for next season to give us more depth, I’m confident we can push on and get promoted.
“Our young players are now developing and becoming more experienced playing senior football as that was a big step up for them from Junior football.
“We have some great talent and I am confident that next season will be even better.”
