Ladies stumble to defeat
COLERAINE Ladies suffered a disappointing defeat on Wednesday evening…
They went down 4-2 in Glenavy against a Crewe United team which picked up their first points of the season.
Player manager Alison Nicholl warned beforehand that a tough test lay ahead despite Crewe having previously failed to record a point and is it proved.
Goals from Abby Alexander and Lizzy McNaughter couldn’t prevent the Bannsiders suffering a surprise defeat.
“We just didn’t turn up on the night,” admitted boss Nicholl.
The manager again had to contend with a weakened squad and remains on the look out for new recruits.
“I’ve got to find a way to strengthen the squad,” added Alison.
“A lot of the girls work part time and because of that they are unavailable.”
