COLERAINE had six players out on loan during the month of December and here’s a recap of their progress at their respective clubs…

Jack Scott and Corey Smith were on loan at Carrick Rangers and Glenavon respectively before being recalled, while Alfie Gaston and Sam McClintock are both gaining valuable experience on loan at Limavady United.

Meanwhile, Aidan Tejada is continuing his development in the Championship with Institute, and Senan Devine has also been recalled following a successful stint at H&W Welders.

Here is a breakdown of how each have fared during the previous month.

JACK SCOTT

Jack featured in four of Carrick’s Premiership matches during the calendar month – with the Tandragee man unable to play against the Bannsiders due to the loan agreement.

Stephen Baxter’s men lost to Coleraine, and then had draws at home to Dungannon Swifts and away at Ballymena United.

December continued with a narrow loss to Larne on Boxing Day, before drawing 2-2 at Crusaders in a game which Scott scored.

Jack has since been recalled by the Bannsiders.

COREY SMITH

Corey started four out of Glenavon’s five Premiership contests and came off the bench for the other.

Michael O’Connor’s men started the month being edged out by Bangor and then suffered a 5-2 loss at Cliftonville.

They had home comforts against Linfield in a 2-1 success as Smith started the fixture, as well as being given the nod for narrow losses to Portadown and Dungannon Swifts.

Corey has since been recalled by the Bannsiders.

ALFIE GASTON

Limavady United had five matches throughout December as they played out a 2-2 draw against Queen’s University, before securing a trio of victories against Armagh City, H&W Welders and Institute.

However, the month ended on a disappointing note as they were beaten 3-1 by title rivals Annagh United.

Alfie started the first game against Queen’s but had to be withdrawn early, meaning he missed the following week’s win against Armagh City. He came off the bench against H&W Welders, before starting the last two games against Institute and Annagh United.

SAM MCCLINTOCK

It is a second loan stint at Limavady for the striker after he spent the second-half of last season at The Showgrounds.

As mentioned above, Paul Owens’ men – who are temporarily playing their home games at the Coleraine Showgrounds – played five games throughout December.

McClintock was used from the bench in the games against Queen’s University, Armagh City and Annagh United, whilst he wasn’t used in the other two contests.

SENAN DEVINE

H&W Welders also had a busy December as Paul Kee’s men had five fixtures in the Championship.

The month started with a goalless draw against league leaders Annagh United, which was then backed up with a 4-0 win at Institute and a 3-2 defeat at home to Limavady United.

The other two games saw plenty of goals as they recorded a 4-0 success against Dundela and a 3-0 win at Warrenpoint Town.

Devine started all five of those contests and netted twice in the 4-0 win on Boxing Day versus Dundela.

Senan has since been recalled by the Bannsiders.

AIDAN TEJADA

Institute endured a difficult December as they drew twice and lost their other three games in the Championship.

Their two draws came against Ballinamallard United (A) and Newington (H), whilst they lost out to H&W Welders (H), Queen’s University (A) and Limavady United (A).

Aidan started the first four games in December but was unused for the last match at home to Newington.
